Danny Teo

Fitness by Danny Teo is a fitness firm set up by well-known Singapore-based fitness instructor Danny Teo. It aims to meet your fitness requirements through its results and goal based fitness programs with the motto "Sore today, Strong tomorrow." Founded by Danny Teo, a qualified person trainer who aside from weight loss and body maintenance, specialises in strengthening client’s bodies post any injuries they may have experienced. Danny incorporates functional training in his workouts, making sure that each workout helps his clients improve physical performance also outside the gym. He strives to make each workout a challenging learning experience, ensuring clients know how to properly perform exercises along with the ensuing benefits. Danny truly enjoys helping his clients achieve their fitness goals, be it to get a six-pack or by simply giving them the motivation to push through their workouts! His desire is to make training accessible and fun, which was the catalyst that led him to branch out into group training bootcamps recently for both adults and kids, apart from pursuing highly-customised personal training programmes. This is where he discovered his passion for fitness and the drive to help other people transform and lead healthier lives. During his school days, Danny was a fencing champion and has represented the country at several competitive events. He currently works as a personal trainer and conducts group bootcamps for adults and kids in Singapore.

Danny’s Journey: Physical Training Instructor Course in SCDF

Danny believes his time during his 2-year National Service in Singapore, a statutory requirement for all male Singaporean citizens and second-generation permanent residents to undergo a period of compulsory service in the uniformed services, was the turning point when he realised his passion for fitness. This video encompasses the 9-week course that he had to go through where he learnt about every muscle in the body, meditation, muscle recovery, human endurance and perseverance. During the fire-fighting course, it can be observed how strong the human mind is - able to withstand the hot sun whilst having to carry a 90kg casualty. He also had to go to a sauna set at 90 degrees Celsius to simulate a real-life scenario. And to cap it all off, there was a final test he needed to pass called the OPFT (Operational Proficiency Fitness Test) before he could graduate from the course. For this he needed to swim 200m in his uniform, carry a backpack with 5kg of weights while going through the SOC (Standard Obstacle Course) and while running 5km.
